Vino wants to give back to the beautiful state of North Carolina. Vino Technologies is giving away $10,000 of consulting and software development to a North Carolina non-profit, education organization, or small business. We understand how difficult it is to build, run, and use modern software. Often it feels like the technology that’s supposed to make our lives easier ends up taking more than it gives back. We want to help.

From September 1st to October 31st, Vino will take project proposals from non-profits across North Carolina and small businesses from the greater triangle area. Proposals will be assessed on their scope, viability, and fit for our development team. As a submitter, you do not need to be in charge of development or engineering teams and you do not need to have a project fully scoped and ready to go. We have decades of experience with enterprise software, let us help you figure out what you need.

To kickstart your brainstorming process, start with the phrase “I wish” and make a note when you can finish the statement during work. For example, “I wish I could find inventory faster” or “I wish it didn’t take so long to do respond to inquiries.”

“I wish” statements are a good signal that there’s opportunity to improve. We can work with you to identify the best way to tackle a problem.

Project ideas

This is by no means an exhaustive list, but it’s a good foundation to kick off from.

1) Public or Private APIs & tools

Do you have data locked away in a computer or database that you wish you could access more easily? We can help connect software together with APIs that integrate with the tools you already have. Tools like Excel, Google Sheets, Quicken, and many others.

2) Data Migration

Do you have data that requires manual translation before you enter it into a tool or database? Maybe you have out-of-date software that you can’t let go of because modern applications can’t read your files? No matter the reason, it’s common for companies to migrate data as they scale and as software changes. If you’re sitting on a pile of data that is becoming harder and harder to manage, let us help!

3) Automation

Are you doing repetitive work at your desk all day, every day? That’s what your computer is for! We are experts in automation and we’d love to help build tools that turn you into ten of you.

4) Workflow optimization & process engineering

Do you know that something isn’t working right but you don’t know what can be done about it? Describe your problem in a proposal and let us figure out if we can help.
